MobiLux · privacy

Nothing to collect.

MobiLux has no account, no server of ours behind it and no analytics. This page explains what the app keeps on your device, what it asks of the transport services it reads, and why it follows your position while you are travelling.

The short version

MobiLux has no accounts, no sign-in and no Pixel Foundry server. There is nothing to register, nothing to log in to, and no profile of you anywhere, because there is no place to keep one.

Your saved places, saved journeys, recent searches, preferences and the trip you are following are held on your device. Pixel Foundry never receives them, and we do not sell or share personal information.

02

Your position

If you grant location permission, MobiLux uses your position to find the stops nearest you, to plan a journey from where you are, and, while you are following a trip, to tell whether you are actually on the service you planned to take.

That last part is why the app follows your position continuously during a trip, and only during a trip. It is what lets MobiLux notice that a train left without you, or that you have gone past your stop, instead of counting confidently down to a stop you are nowhere near. The reading happens on your device and stops when the trip ends.

Your position is never sent to Pixel Foundry. It is sent to the services in section 04 only in the ordinary course of asking them a question (“which stops are near this point”, “plan a journey from here”) and never in the background.

You can refuse or withdraw location access at any time in your device settings. MobiLux still plans journeys between places you type in; only the position-aware parts stop working.

03

What is stored on your device

MobiLux keeps the following in its own storage on your phone:

  • Home, work and named favourite addresses that you save.
  • Saved journeys and recent search results.
  • Preferences: language, preferred transport modes, notification setting, transfer time and step-free preference.
  • The trip you are currently following, so it survives the app being closed. It clears itself a few minutes after you arrive.

None of it is uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app removes it, subject to whatever backup behaviour your operating system applies to app data.

04

The services MobiLux talks to

MobiLux is a client for public transport data it does not own. To answer a question it asks:

  • The Mobilitéit journey planner gateway, operated for Luxembourg’s public transport authority, for stops, departures, itineraries, live times and disruption notices.
  • The Luxembourg Geoportail reverse-geocoding service, to turn a set of coordinates into a street address.
  • Apple Maps on iOS and Google Maps on Android, which draw the map itself.

When the app contacts them, those operators can see the ordinary technical details of a request (your IP address, the request itself, and when it was made), and their own privacy policies govern what they do with it. MobiLux sends no identifier of you along with any request, because it does not have one.

05

Notifications

Delay, cancellation, platform-change and connection alerts, along with the board-soon and get-off-soon reminders, are created locally by your own device. There is no push server, and nothing about your trip leaves the phone in order to raise them.

On iOS the running trip can also appear as a Live Activity on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island; on Android as an ongoing notification. Both are drawn on the device from the trip it is already following.

You can turn trip notifications off inside MobiLux, or withdraw notification permission in your device settings.

06

No advertising, no analytics

MobiLux contains no advertising SDK, no attribution SDK and no analytics SDK. Pixel Foundry builds no profile of you and measures nothing about how you use the app.

If you choose to share crash and usage diagnostics with Apple or Google at the operating-system level, we may see aggregate crash reports through their developer tools. That is their mechanism, governed by their terms, and you control it in your device settings.

07

Children

MobiLux is a general-audience travel utility. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and since it collects no personal information at all, it holds none.

08

Your rights

Data protection law gives you rights of access, correction, erasure and portability over personal data a company holds about you. Pixel Foundry holds no personal data from MobiLux, so there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct or erase. The app’s data lives on your device and is yours to delete by removing the app. If you would like that confirmed in writing, write to us and we will.

09

Changes and contact

If MobiLux gains a feature that changes any of this, this page changes with it and the effective date above moves. A real server, if one is ever added to deliver alerts while the app is closed, would be described here before it shipped.

Questions about privacy go to contact@pixelfoundry.lu.

Privacy should be short.

If anything here is unclear, or you want confirmation in writing that we hold nothing of yours, ask.
